**CLOSED** The EMBRC Administrative Assistant and Executive Director’s Personal Assistant will perform a variety of general office duties to support the operations of the EMBRC Secretariat Office

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE:
The EMBRC Administrative Assistant and Executive Director’s Personal Assistant will perform a variety of general office duties to support the operations of the EMBRC Secretariat Office. The post-holder will skillfully utilize administrative systems and procedures as well as mindfully practice general secretariat and office maintenance duties. Working languages are both English and French. The postholder will be based at the EMBRC Head Quarter, hosted by UPMC, Campus of Jussieu, in Paris. He/she will respond to the EMBRC Executive Director.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Good command of both English and French;

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook;

• Proficient data handling on Excel spreadsheets or other accounting interfaces;

• Accounting skills;

• The ability to deal effectively with multiple tasks and changing tasks and schedules;

• Candidate will have good interpersonal and communications skills

• An ability to work in an independent and organised manner to efficiently and effectively meet expectations;

 

DESIREABLE SKILLS:

• Familiarity with accounting in the public sector;

• Experience of event management;

• Knowledge of financial reporting for EU projects;

• Working knowledge of MS Access is a plus;

• Willingness to travel and work outside normal hours.

 

SPECIAL PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

• Availability to assume work tasks at short notice and willingness to learn new skills;

• Reliable;

• Mindful and open;

• Candidate must have interest in being part of a team working to build the EMBRC.

• Candidate must be confident at managing his/her time and making decision to solve problems.

 

CONDITIONS:

2.0 year contract with 6 months probation and possibility of renewal
