Description:

The Blue Biotechnology and Ecotoxicology Culture Collection (LEGE-CC) is a collection of microorganisms from CIIMAR, registered in the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC). The Culture Collection comprises more than 386 different cyanobacterial strains, several of them unique among the (phylogenetic) diversity of the group. Live culture supply of 386 cyanobacterial strains, genomic DNA, algal extracts and freeze-dried material. These isolates have been obtained since 1991, from samples collected in different environments and locations mainly in Portugal (including Madeira and Azores Islands), but also elsewhere (e.g. Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Morocco, Mexico). http://www.ciimar.up.pt/legecc/

Isolation and culturing of Planctomycetes and other bacteria from diverse environments, more than 200 Planctomycetes and bacteria from different phyla (Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes) obtained from sponge microbiome, the biofilm of macroalgae and grapes, salines and deep sea.
