The canSERV Consortium has launched its 2nd Challenge Call, "Reaching an Understanding of Cancer," inviting cancer researchers worldwide to apply for free access to advanced transnational services to accelerate research on cancer understanding.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE OPEN CALL PROCESS
 

  • Projects should address various aspects of cancer research, including:
    • Poor prognosis cancers
    • Rising incidence cancers
    • Cancer and inflammation
    • New modifiable risk factors
    • Biomarker development 
      for prevention, detection, treatment, and monitoring
       
  • Researchers must choose at least 2 services from the canSERV catalogue 

  • Services must originate from countries outside your base

  • Research results should comply with FAIR principles for data sharing and protection

  • Access to services is facilitated through the canSERV Common Access Management System (CAMS)

  • Transnational Access (TNA) allows for free access to research services either in person or remotely

  • Eligibility is open to all European and non-European researchers affiliated with academic institutes, SMEs, or public/private entities

  • Evaluation criteria include:
    • Scientific merit
    • Justification for the solicited service
    • Proposal feasibility

WHO'S CANSERV?
 

European wide research infrastructures offer a portfolio of services to address the needs of the entire oncological research pipeline. 

As part of a concerted strategy to tackle the challenges of cancer, the EU-funded project canSERV offers more than 400 innovative cancer research technologies to European and non-European cancer researchers at all levels. The service, or a combination of services and training, can be requested to accelerate ground-breaking discoveries and their translation into clinical applications.

In line with Europe’s Cancer Mission and Beating Cancer Plan, canSERV promotes the development of concrete solutions for cancer by providing a comprehensive set of world-class oncology technologies and state of the art training to cancer scientists.
