The Leibniz Institute DSMZ/German Nagoya Protocol HuB will be hosting an online European Union (EU) Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) Networking Event on Monday, 14 June 2021 from 14:00 to 16:00 CEST.
The event is organised together with EMBRC, the Union for Ethical BioTrade (UEBT), ABS-int, the Dutch ABS National Focal Point (hosted by Wageningen University and Research), and the Natural History Museum London. This online event will bring together different actors from across the EU to reflect on 'capacity building for users' — gaps and ways forward into the future.
Why is this networking event needed? Since 2014, actors across the EU have been hard at work figuring out how best to support users of genetic resources in their respective sectors or regions with ABS and compliance requirements. The purpose of this event to assess what has been done, if it is working, and what remains to be done.
