eDNAqua-Plan’s mission

eDNAqua-Plan aims to develop a FAIR-based digital ecosystem for aquatic eDNA repositories while connecting existing reference libraries, assessing existing standards, and identifying key monitoring projects and programmes that the system needs to support. The project will also create a dynamic species reference library to support future biodiversity monitoring initiatives in marineand freshwater ecosystems.

EMBRC’s role in eDNAqua-Plan

As a coordinator, the role of EMBRC is to manage the project’ consortium in support ofeDNAqua-Plan objectives. EMBRC is also responsible for liaising with the European Commission, facilitating implementation and execution of the project
