Biodiversity and ocean observation

TRICUSO’s mission

TRICUSO (Three Research Infrastructures together: Carbon Uptake Southern Ocean) aims to transform the way ocean carbon uptake is observed, analysed, and integrated into climate decision-making by strengthening the Ocean Carbon Value Chain. The project connects existing infrastructures, enhances autonomous observation technologies, and supports citizen science efforts to improve the coverage and reliability of ocean carbon data particularly in critical areas like the Southern Ocean.

EMBRC’s role in TRICUSO

As a partner, EMBRC’s role is to strengthen the biological dimension of ocean carbon monitoring, ensuring that biological processes are fully integrated into climate observations and decision-making. Through its network of marine stations and expertise, EMBRC contributes to the harmonisation of methodologies, fosters standardised data collection, and supports citizen science initiatives to expand ocean observation efforts.

Participate in Bio-GO-SHIP Call for researchers

Bio-GO-SHIP Call

Bio-GO-SHIP aims to become an international collaboration to measure, understand, and predict the biodiversity and biogeochemical role of pelagic communities. TRICUSO is calling to support this collaboration.
